Chocolate Cherry Almond Sorbet

This is super delicious and doesn’t require an ice cream freezer.  However, this could be made quicker with an ice cream freezer.  I personally think this is one of the richest tasting chocolate sorbets I have ever eaten.  Yum!


1 cup sugar
3 cups water
¾ cup cocoa
1 T. coffee
1 t. vanilla
¼ t. salt
½ cup Enjoy Life brand, dairy free chocolate chips
1 cup frozen dark sweet pitted cherries


Using a small sauce pan add the sugar and water over medium high heat until the sugar dissolves. 

Whisk in the cocoa, coffee and salt until completely dissolved.  Remove from the heat.

Add the vanilla, frozen cherries and stir well.  Next add the dairy free chips and stir well.

Pour mixture into flat Tupperware or Rubbermaid container with lid.  Cover and place in freezer. 

Stir every hour.  The sorbet should be ready in 6 to 8 hours.
