Teresa’s Strawberry Sorbet

My sister Teresa was visiting from Denver and made this special treat for us after dinner.  We loved the chunks of strawberries along with the lime. This is a perfect dessert on a hot day.  We have omitted corn syrup and sugar from the original recipe and replaced them with honey.  We liked it even better. :)


1 1b. fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

1/2 cup honey

Juice of 2 limes

2 cups cold water



Combine the strawberries, lime juice and honey in a medium bowl.  Cover strawberries and refrigerate for 1 hour.

Take out of refrigerator and mash the partially mash the berries until almost pureed.  Next add the water.  Stir until well blended.

Pour mixture into small ice cream maker and turn on and freeze until frozen sorbet appearance develops.  Serve immediately.
